Redbook's annual MVP (Most Valuable Product) awards ceremony makes for a beauty-lover's ideal morning -- a breakfast honoring the best tools and products in skin, hair and makeup for 2010.

Now in its sixth year, the MVP awards have become one of the most coveted honors in the beauty industry because they're carefully chosen by Redbook's beauty director Cheryl Kramer Kaye and beauty editor Krista Bennett DeMaio -- two discerning beauty-aholics who have seen it all and only accept the best.

Kaye started things off by explaining that it's been a rough year but "the wonderful thing about beauty is that it gives you a break from all the serious stuff." Indeed, beauty products are one of the most affordable way to lift your spirits, and to prove it, almost all of this year's MVPs are under $50.

All 53 winners can be seen in the December issue of Redbook -- but here are few highlights that particularly peaked our interest:

Avon Anew Wrinkle Zone Line Smoothing Duo ($14): It's a duo thing -- a tinted cream minimizes wrinkles around your eyes and on your forehead and then you put the powder on top to set it. Yes, please!

The Instyler ($14.99): Does everything it claims -- straightens hair, smoothes frizz and adds shine. And what a steal!

Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15: Kaye loves it for it's sheer rosy color, mega moisturizing skills and the fact that it "gives lips that 'I've been smooching' look."

Cetaphil UVA/UVB Defense SPF 50: Kaye warns people who don't wear daily SPF "how old they're going to look in a few years." She now recommends this to all of her former sun-worshiping friends.
