Ugly Christmas Sweaters and Bad Holiday Outfits

Every year, it's the same – more crimes against fashion are committed in December than ever. Think ugly Christmas sweaters, green and red outfits, Fair Isle explosions, and Santa-inspired dresses.

We tapped two crack stylists to intervene: Elle Werlin, who's worked with Beyoncé and Jessica Szohr, and Sam Spector, a veteran of Mischa Barton and Kristin Cavallari.

The pair have identified the worst holiday outfits, and the celebrities who've succumbed to the temptation. They are also here to offer hope ('tis the season after all!) in the form of fashionista-approved alternatives.

Hey Sam,I don'tknow how to tell you this, but somebody's got to do it. Are you ready? Brace yourself. You'd better be sitting down for this. Okay? All set? Here we go! - The dress is really Christmassy, because...shhhh...ready?.......it's Christmas. Got it? Christmas = Christmassy. They go together. Sorta like wearimg a swimsuit at the beach, or an overcoat in a snowstorm. I hope you can somehow grasp that concept, because Julie looks great in that outfit. Take it from me - I'm an expert, well-trained, very experienced, girl-watcher. I would be proud to go out with a woman wearing that combination, and if I saw her at a party, I would gravitate toward her, just because she looks like someone who is more concerned with enjoying the season, and less concerned with trying to pleasel self-absorbed, pompous faux experts like you. - Merry Christmas! I won't even get into your next eight critiques (you're really out-of-touch with the real world - come and visit sometime), except to say that we agree that Kathy Griffin's slut outfit makes her look like she plans to spend the holidays on Hollywood Boulevard, making extra money for gifts!
