Herbashine is a hybrid between permanent color and demi permanent color -- the rinse-out washes that add dimension to your existing color but cannot lighten your hair because they don't contain peroxide.
The company is calling this new category of hair color "soft-lift," because it can lift hair up a single level in color, cover up to 70% of grays, and give natural-looking results without an obvious root line.
The formula contains enough peroxide to take the hair one shade lighter, but manages to do so without ammonia -- the ingredient responsible for the potent smell of hair color, and thought to be damaging to the hair. The ammonia is replaced by two alkaline ingredients that achieve the same results -- opening the hair shaft for the bleach to penetrate and color the hair, and delivering a pH balance at which all the ingredients are activated.
The tell-tale hair dye smell is replaced by a bona fide fragrance, with fruity top notes of apple and black currant, floral fruit heart notes of apricot and iris, and exotic wood base notes.
The star ingredient, bamboo, promises to leave hair stronger and shinier by infusing hair with some of its fortifying properties -- the wood famed for its flexibility, durability, and lightening fast rate of growth.
