Sante D'Orazio Celebrates His Sexy New Book 'Barely Private'

12/10/2009 1:30PM by Julia Kelly

If your inner voyeur wants a sneak peek at some intimate celebrity moments, start by thumbing through Sante D'Orazio's new book "Barely Private." It's the naked, and totally provocative, truth.

Guests including Matt Dillon, Stavros Niarchos and Brian Atwood, poured into New York City's Milk Gallery to celebrate an exhibit showcasing the photographs in the artist's photo-diary-scrapbook.

A follow-up to his 1998 debut, "A Private View," this collection of behind-the-scene photos accompanied by D'Orazio's scribbled hand-written notes, chronicles the wild and glamorous lives of assorted scantily clad models, celebrities, actors, rock stars and artists.

"Any artist, no matter what they do -- if they're acting on stage or they're a musician -- has a performance time," the internationally acclaimed photographer told StyleList.

"You have an audience and you get to show what you do, so a real artist looks forward to being able to exhibit their work. I'm excited to be here," D'Orazio revealed to us.

"There's no theme, its basically my diary," he explains. "It was hard to pick which pictures went in. It's sort of like giving up one of your children for another one. This book has 300 pages and I could have easily produced four of these," the lensman adds.

Images include a sultry Eva Mendes perched on a sofa, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell backstage at fashion shows, and Pamela Anderson peaking over the balcony at celeb haunt Chateau Marmont.

There's no doubt that this book will spice up your coffee table collection.
