Carrie Underwood gave the public exactly what they were looking for last night -- a look at her brand new engagement ring.

The country crooner attended the game of her NHL-playing fiance Mike Fisher in Ottawa, Canada, where she chatted with a girlfriend while casually lifting her left hand to show off the massive round rock gracing her ring finger.

Her friend clearly couldn't keep her eyes off the huge diamond, which The Diamond Information Center estimates is over 5 carats and valued at $150,000-plus.

While 26-year-old Underwood hasn't spoken out about her happy news yet, her publicist released a statement after the Sunday engagement.

"I'm happy to confirm that Carrie Underwood is engaged to Mike Fisher, and the couple couldn't be happier," she said.

US Magazine
also caught up with Fisher last night, after his team lost to the Bruins, 2-0.

"We're both obviously excited and very happy," the 29-year-old said about the engagement. "I'm not sure exactly when [the wedding will take place]."

But with Fisher's Web site speculating that it'll happen next summer, his hockey season not wrapping up until April and Underwood's tour over in May, we think summer '10 is a safe bet.

Although we've never been big hockey fans, we might think about tuning in to the Senators next game in Pittsburgh tomorrow, where there will surely be a fleet of paparazzi trying to get a close-up of Underwood's stunning rock.

We'll also have our eyes on Fox tonight, when Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special is broadcast, although, unfortunately, we're guessing it was taped pre-engagement.

Until then, take a look at our gallery of celebrity engagement rings to see how Underwood's bling stacks up.
