Plus-Size Model Crystal Renn Rocks V Magazine Size Issue

As we reported last week, the next issue of V magazine will celebrate women of all shapes and all sizes -- including plus-size.

And although the sure-to-be-controversial issue (#63) doesn't hit newsstands until Jan. 14, we got a sneak peek at one of the fashion stories.

Photographer Terry Richardson's story, dubbed 'One Size Fits All,' features plus-size model/author Crystal Renn -- a 5 ft, 9 in. beauty with 36-31-41 measurements -- opposite model-on-the-rise Jacquelyn Jablonski who stands at the same height as Renn, but with more waifish stats: 32-24-34.

Both women, shown in side-by-side images, strike similar poses and don identical and often vibrantly patterned ensembles by the likes of Ralph Lauren, Proenza Schouler and Dolce & Gabbana with bold accessories by Versace, Burberry and Alexis Bittar.

One spread (shown above) features both models wearing the ubiquitous bodysuit and innerwear as outerwear trend, here, in the form of a fully visible bra, both by Dolce & Gabbana.

The point of the spread is apparent -- to show that size doesn't matter and fashion can flatter a multitude of figures. Now, if only all the fashion designers would include plus-sizes in their collections, we'd be getting somewhere.

shes pretty but in all honesty jacquelyn looks better. if you have those measurements and if youre friends call you "skinny" by god you live in america and you're friends are fatasses. im not saying being bigger is worse, im just saying stop delusioning yourselves, though its not all your fault we live in a country that encourages such behavior. and put a size 18 in? wtf people stop thinking being giant is "OKAY" its not its unhealthy and when people laugh, its for a reason.

and yes i'm aware a lot of you are going to basically spam hate at me for this, but i just have to be honest.

Woo Hoo!!! its about time :) looking at these photos side by side you can clearly see that the women who is built more like the rest of the world at least to me sends more sex appeal. I think the girl she is mirroring looks unhealthy and stiff. just my opinion and I am all for real women magazines!!

OH PULL-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE! For the millionth time, people, it is NOT CUTE to be FAT!!!! Y do they keep trying to convince us otherwise??? Haute coutre was not meant for fat women; they don't look good in it, and it doesn't look good on them. STOP PRETENDING, AN APE IN A SUIT IS STILL A SUIT, EVEN IF THE SUIT IS CHANEL!!!!!!!

Surely you aren't calling her an ape in a suit??? now if I was in that suit that would be a totally different story (that would scare even me!!)

Crystal Renn wins by far. There is nothing else to be said. Full figured women is where it is at. Times have changed and skinny is gone.

IF she is plus size, I am tent sized...oh wait I AM tent sized...and she is still no plus size.they are both beautiful, but I too am tired of the fashion people pawning off normal sized people as plus size...Take Lane Bryants....ever look at one of their catalogues? Their sizes go from 14 up to even larger than me...and I doubt if any of their models actually "fills" a 14.

I like the so-called plus-sized girl". She looks like a real person. The other one is a "scarecrow dressed in latest fashion".

I think crystal the girl on the right looks fabulous now the skinny chick on the other hand does not. The "plus sized" woman looks thick and healthy which is a body type i like better than rail thin.

Plus size? Interesting concept. She is hardly a size 6 or 8! What would they call any size over 12? They both look good, its just a different interpretation of the same outfit, giving it a different flare, that's all.

If she's plus sized, I'm the next president. Its a sad world we live in that a healthy woman such as Penn should be catagorized as PLUS anything, she's normal, almost thin by our true adverage size here in the US. My daughter is waif thin by genetics, her father's not mine, and I'm struggling to keep her of a mindset that this is not the way you have to be to be beautiful.

I don't think anyone will get the real message behind this. It's ALL sizes are beautiful. Anytime a show, movie, magazine, etc. tries to give this thought it turns into a "bigger is better" campaign. I'm a skinny skinny girl, not by choice it's just the way I am no matter how hard I try to gain weight. I know for a fact many other girls are like this too. I've noticed with this "big is beautiful" thing (which don't get me wrong I agree) calling a woman fat is the worst thing you can do. But, is it now okay to call skinny girls ugly and sickly? What about those that have insulted my body in front of my kids, are they just empowering women? Maybe the criteria is changing but holding women to image standards is still the same. Am I the only that's noticing this?

Some of you people need a reality check. The skinnier model is not "sickly" or anything close to that. These women have DIFFERENT body types. Just because someone is "skinny" doesn't mean they are unhealthy, and same thing for the "plus-sized" model. They are both beautiful women and neither of them deserve the disrespect some are giving them. As for the pictures, the plus-sized model looks better in the first pic, and the skinner model looks better in the second picture.

The "Plus-Size" model presents a much more attractive look. I agree with the others: Crystal looks NORMAL. Perhaps they should coin a new phrase . . . "Minus-Size" models . . . lol

Plus size?? ...Wow. The fashion industry needs a real wake-up call. Women come in all different shapes and sizes. Just because someone isn't rail thin doesn't mean he/she is plus sized. This is just nonsense.
