Forget the fall collections, fashion designers are dashing out of town for the holidays.

Two of the most revered designers around – Marc Jacobs and Narciso Rodriguez – are not using their holiday time off to prep for fashion week, which is less than two months away, but are hitting the beach.

"My boyfriend and I leave for Brazil on Wednesday," Rodriguez told StyleList. "I spend the holidays and New Year's Eve in Brazil. It's all about peace and quiet," he added, "My place is in the north and it's a little bit quieter on the beach. I usually like the heat when it's cold."

Jacobs is also headed to warmth. "Lorenzo [Martone, his fiancé] and I are leaving for St. Barts on Wednesday morning," he told StyleList. "I plan to read, eat well, go to the gym, lie on the beach, swim, maybe jet ski and that's about it, really." However, he added, fall fashion week is a thought. "I have a lot of work to do – it's definitely on my mind."

Not on their minds, interestingly, were gifts. Jacobs admitted to buying only one – for Martone, which was a secret – and Rodriguez only purchased toys to be donated to children in need.

As for receiving, Rodriguez admitted, "I don't really want for anything. I want to get to the beach, that's what I really want." And Jacobs? "Happiness is something I always want."
