Unsafe drinking water is one of the most critical issues of our time, and today Cover Girl announced their partnership with the Children's Safe Drinking Water program and their intent to lend support to helping this global crisis.
The Cover Girl Clean Makeup for Clean Water campaign -- a nod to CG's newly relaunched Clean Makeup for normal skin and brand new Clean Makeup formulas for sensitive skin and oily skin -- launched the partnership with a donation of $500,000 to CSDW. "Cover Girl's generous donation will provide 50 million liters of clean water to children in need around the world," says Dr. Greg Allgood, Director, CSDW.
This past September CG's newest spokesmodel Dania Ramirez kicked it off when she returned to her native Dominican Republic to help deliver a year's supply of water. "I was thrilled to be back in my home country to help Cover Girl deliver clean drinking water," she says. "I know firsthand that a shortage of safe drinking water can be a matter of life or death. When I was growing up, at times we had to boil our water before drinking it so we didn't get sick or worse."
Cover Girl is inviting everyone to join the effort; starting today you can submit a short video explaining how you give back. For every entry Cover Girl will provide a week's worth of clean water to a child in need AND you'll be eligible to win a humanitarian trip to Africa as part of the next Clean Makeup for Clean Water campaign.
