Ladies, grab your ink. Tattoos are spring's hottest accessory.

Tattoo-inspired body art was shown by fashion houses as different as Rodarte and Jean Paul Gautier on their Spring 2010 runways.

But it was Chanel's wonderfully whimsical versions that got us talking, and there have been rumblings that maybe, just maybe, the fashion house would bring them to retail ever since.

And we just got official word that they are.

Called Les Trompe L'Oeil de CHANEL Temporary Skin Art, these limited edition designs are based on the temporary tattoos that global creative director Peter Philips designed for the Paris runway show. Each pack contains five sheets (with 55 total designs included in each) and starting in mid-February they will be sold for $75.00 at Chanel.com.

We haven't gotten our hands on the actual tattoos yet, but based on the ones we saw on the runway and in Chanel's spring imagery they look truly gorgeous.

We can definitely see fashion-forward celebrities trading the traditional red carpet choker for the pearl-inspired necklace tattoo to the left.

And at $75 for 55 different designs, this is a recession-friendly way to wear Chanel this spring.

Chanel cosmetics doesn't allow their employees to have any visible tattoos. Go figure.

Tatoos on beautiful young women turn me off. Just my opinion. How temporary are these "temporary tatoos?" Is there an accumulative effect? What about repeated temp. tatoos in the same area? Problem? How much testing went into this product? Sorry, not impressed on any level.

I've thought for sometime that a temp tat would be a nice way to accessories. I'd see some temp tats but their were never many to choose from. I love that they are going to do this.

I think tattoos on women look terrible, a beautiful body polluted with permanent art is a bad idea. The art is permanent but styles change. It might be a deal breaker for me.

It's okay to dislike but then again it's always those with limited views who limit themselves in life. If she's intelligent, with a sense of humor, great personality and body.... Who cares about the body art as long as it's not a head to toe type thing a few tats here and there is sexy. Then again those who see you may not like this or that but can look past your stupidity and still date you.

I agree, guys. I was a bridal consultant a few years ago. Dress a gorgeous bride in a $2000 and up strapless gown and then look at her miserable, navy-blue ink stain across her shoulder. Or worse, down her arm. Not exactly beautiful. And do they consider what they will look like when they are 60+??? Especially these tats on everyone's neck! I think the artwork can be beautiful........on canvas!

It's funny that some ppl are saying art work only looks good on a cavas. well guess what moron my body is a blank canvas for me to put my ART work on. If you don't like what others are doing with their bodies don't look at them. I bet half of you talking down about tattoos should sue Macdonalds for making you fat. but you don't worry about yourselves you gotta worry about others to make yourself feel better. I have 2 tats I got at 18 I'm now 20 and I plan on getting many more. These tats were not spur-of-the-moment tats they were thought out for years. "People say treat your body like a temple, well the last time I saw a temple it was decorated with ART" so guess what I'm gonna keep getting artwork on my body and not worry what anyone of you think about it. O and by the way from a mans point of veiw tastefully done tattoos on women are beautiful.

There is little in this life for me more disgusting than a tattoo. Why are so many people scarring and defacing their bodies with them? Ladies, they are NOT attractive! Someday all of you with tattoos will wish you had been smarter when you were young and not had them put on your body. Today's generation is prone to violence, ignorance of so many things, piercings (equally ugly), having tattoos, poor driving habits, lack of respect for others, and they have the Lemming complex. Essentially this is the generation of LOSERS!

Not everyone that has a tattoo did it when they were young. I got my tattoo when I was 48. It was a Mothers Day present to myself because I always wanted one. And I really don't give two dead flys what you think of it . I love body art.

I got my first tat at 19, my second and 3rd at 20 and my 4th at 21 and they all have an Important meaning to me. Not everyone who gets inked get them just because they thought "hey those are cool." Mine are all in significance to my son, my grandmother and my mother. All of whom have changed my life in More ways than I ever expected. I'll be 23 soon and I plan on getting at least 2 more.

I think it's horrendous and completely idiotic that you are comparing having a tattoo or piercings to behaviors that demean others. What does having a tattoo have to do with driving badly (and endangering others) or not respecting those around you?
A tattoo is a personal choice. It has nothing to do with anyone else. If you don't like tattoos, DON'T GET ONE. Talk about disrespecting others - what do you think demeaning another person's life choices is?
As a professional person that has a tattoo (with very important sentimental meaning) - I urge you to keep your comments to yourself.
Last time I heard, God was the only one with the right to judge others.

These are TEMPORARY tattoos. Why are you complaining about REAL tattoos? Temporary tattoos are for people just like YOU! They wash off in the shower.

The only difference between tattooed people and non tattooed is that tattooed people don't care that you're not tattooed!

I agree with elin. & on the subject of women having tattoos? It's a personal choice. I have 1 semi-small tattoo on my shoulder, and it can easily be covered up. Ever hear the phrase 'to each their own'?

I have tattoos and I can cover them up and you can't even tell I have them. Personally I think that people are not supposed to judge you by your tattoos. What is important is how you are inside and not outside. I think anybody that tries to judge you for your tattoos needs to read the bible more often or look at theirselves in the mirror. The bible says you are not supposed to judge anybody.
