Avon Signs Zoe Saldana, Star of 'Avatar'

"Avatar's" lead warrior princess Neytiri is coming up smelling roses.

The face behind the Na'vi character – Zoe Saldana – has signed with Avon to represent their newest fragrance, Eternal Magic, debuting in April. The scent is inspired by the rare lavender-pink Princess Monaco Rose.

"It means so much to me to be associated with a company that shares my values and believes in empowering women," says Saldana.

But the good news doesn't stop there for the 31-year-old actress, whose Avon contract is her first major endorsement deal; the beauty will also model her exotic looks for Avon's color cosmetics collection.

"Every woman wants to be unforgettable and Zoe perfectly embodies that feeling. She's a rising star in Hollywood – and has built a strong reputation for playing empowering characters that leave a lasting impression," says Senior Vice President and President of Avon North America Geralyn Breig.

After seeing Saldana decked out in vibrant Pandora blue for her two and a half hour flick, we can't wait to see how she pulls off the other colors of the rainbow.

She is lovely, and as for the comments that black models don't sell well to mainstream America...........I'd consider buying almost anything Halle Berry promotes. Obviously I wouldn't buy the same foundation, but lipsticks, eye makeup, mascara, you betcha. I love the way this young lady dresses too. Not trashy, very elegant for her age. Well done.

u obviously don't know how much money black women spend on beauty products. the estimates are as high as $7 billion dollars worldwide. the reason fashion fair doesn't sell is because it's considered old school. our mother's generation used their products. younger generations are just not into their products but we definitely spend a lot on cosmetics. and i have the sephora receipts to prove it lol.

I think she is beautiful.I love avon products,but I must confess the reason for this email is to find out where that lilac dress she was wearing in the avon add came from.Please email me if you know the answer . I absolutely love that dress. I'm planning a wedding in the fall,and that is the perfect dress..
