Then Oprah Winfrey and actress Rita Wilson gave a cast of style-challenged ladies "look great at any age" makeovers.
And new pajamas!
StyleList has got the goods (and discount deets) on the sexy yet discreet Cosabella nightgowns, camisoles, sleep pants and robes Wilson chose for several makeover subjects on today's episode of "Oprah."
The sleepwear makeovers were transformative enough to have us wondering if the daytime diva may have started a pajama rebellion. Has anyone forgotten the revolution her bra-fitting show started?
Wilson, who says she has developed her own winning style through "trial and error," tossed old pajamas as part of her multi-faceted makeovers. Gone from her subjects closets? Anything resembling sweatpants. "They're frumpy," Oprah pronounced.
Wilson offered discreet, but more fetching alternatives. "I have teenage boys in the house, so I understand the need for coverage," Mrs. Tom Hanks told the audience.
Wllson also listed the things she's tossed from her own closet. They include "anything too tight" including "really tight jeans that give you muffin top" and four inch heels. "I'm more interested in comfort now," she explained.
Which is why she was so interested in talking pajamas. "I still like to sit around in my sweats with my hair in a ponytail," she said. "It's just the kind of sweats that matter."
Her practical but pretty picks included silk camisoles with shelf bras with coordinating pants, discreet three-quarter length nightgowns and matching short sets, pretty sleep T-shirts and robes.
Online lingerie retailer Bare Necessities carries the Cosabella picks and is offering a two day discount of 25% off the styles featured on "Oprah" today. Time to put down the popcorn bowl and give yourself a sleepwear makeover. Who says cozy can't be chic?
