When chanteuse Marion Cotillard showed up this weekend at a Dior party held in her honor for the film "Nine," mouths flapped at the sight of the actress's tight, frizzy curls; paired with her bob cut, it just looked so playfully chic – as did the Christian Dior metallic silver party dress Cotillard flaunted.
The pin curl look previously favored by fashionistas circa 1980-something is hitting the Spring and Summer '10 catwalk in a big way too.
Old Hollywood 40's-inspired waves were seen at Dior, while a combed-out frizzy perm highlighted the Sonia Rykiel and Marc by Marc Jacobs collections. Volume-loving afro wigs took center stage at Louis Vuitton – all as reported by Grazia.
But before you rush to the hairdresser seeking a perm, you can try the look first without fully committing by playing with rollers. Look for a small size to twist and bobby pin hairspray-prepped hair into, as these rollers create much more texture and curl than their larger counterparts.
Another option for longer-haired girls: sleep in freshly-washed braided hair and awake to fabulousness.
And if you naturally have poufy, humidity-loving curls or waves, just step out the door. It's finally your time to shine.
