The satin-faced gown was custom-made for curve bombshell Hendricks, who met with the multitasking "Project Runway" winner during a private fitting.
Hendricks told E! network's red carpet pre-show hosts that a mutual friend suggested the collaboration with Siriano and made the introduction. "...I'm thrilled," she said of the results.
Siriano's dress for Hendricks, along with the rest of his Spring 2010 collection, was inspired by the coast of Italy. The peach he chose for Hendrick's gown was not part of his spring color story, which calls heavily on tropical blues, champagne tones and features a playful, vivid print he also used in his collection for Payless shoes.
The star's dress was based around the beach, sand and shells of the Amalfi Coast, Siriano said in a statement. He created the collection after plans for a vacation trip to Italy with a large group of friends fell apart. "I couldn't go and I was bummed, so this is based on the way I imagined the Amalfi Coast would be," the designer told StyleList.
Siriano has had a string of big fashion moments since season 4 of "Project Runway" when he established himself as a fan favorite and has turned out to be the show's most prolific winner to date. In addition to his Golden Globes score, he is also doing runway collections, bridal, shoes, Fierce Mamas maternity and ready-to-wear.
Now that's making it work!
And proving to be quite the loyal "Christian" devotee, the actress completed her look with a "Kephron" silver clutch by Christian Louboutin.
