Yes eggplant, the color, was a stunning hit on some of our favorite actresses: Winner Sandra Bullock was a pretty plum in Bottega Veneta, Jane Krakowski was ravishing in J. Mendel and Rose Byrne looked ready to paint the town purple in Lanvin.

These deep purples are a nice change from last year's red overload; the greens were great too. Barely any blue gowns -- that's a surprise!
