"Cougar Town" star Courteney Cox may have worn one of Victoria Beckham's dresses to last night's Golden Globes, but the singer turned designer may have set her sights on something, er, bigger(?): dressing a group of pop star hopefuls assaulting us with Whitney Houston medleys on "American Idol."

The shoe's producers are said to be courting Beckham to dress the singing contestants during the show's finals, the Mirror reports.

Though Beckham's stint as a judge during auditions was panned by some critics, series creator Simon Fuller is reportedly anxious to have her design skills on board.

(If only this had happened sooner. Ruben Studdard and David Archuleta would have looked soooo adorable in little Victoria Beckham frocks, don't you think? No?)

Fuller has offered Beckham a rumored £60,000 (approximately $98,000) per episode for the gig, according to the paper.

"This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Victoria's spectacular eye for fashion," an insider told the source. "She's giving the offer serious thought."

Of course, Fuller may have more than Beckham's design skills on his mind. The exec is reportedly trying to nab Beckham to thwart departing judge Simon Cowell's plans to bring her on as a judge for his proposed US version of "X Factor."

Hmmm. We don't know which we'd rather see: wannabe stars singing treacly pop ballads while wearing designer denim and cocktail dresses, or wannabe stars singing treacly pop ballads that will be judged by Cowell and Beckham. Decisions, decisions.
