For our new product, Luvah, an aphrodesiac-laced (Dong Quai, an ancient Chinese herb, and ylang-ylang, a floral remedy) double-plumping (called "Complex OO") compact with a lip stain and a matching pearlized gloss, which gives a 3-D effect, I knew I had to do something kind of crazy. Oh, did I mention it has Vitamin E and vanilla-mint fragrance for fresh kissing breath.
The story behind the product is sexy/funny. I went on 150 dates (mostly via online) to find my husband. I wasn't looking for "the ring," but I was looking for a meaningful relationship. I met Todd, the love of my life and business partner in Purple Lab, after 149 male moments, some horrendous (one guy sued me), some exciting (the pseudo rock star was fun until I found out he was living in his parent's basement).
Each shade is named after the archetype of guy I dated to find my husband. The first two are Rich Jerk and Mama's Boy. Oy!
In honor of my journey, I am putting together the world's largest speed dating event - and going for the record. Master Matchmaker Steve Ward of VH-1's Tough Love fame is hosting. And it's going down at the W Hoboken Hotel & Residences, a sleek space one stop off of the Path train (Acura is shepherding daters from the train to the hotel).
We are going through painstaking details to document this for Guinness in order to make history. You cannot imagine the paperwork. We need to keep detailed logs, have everyone sign in, present photos, testimonials, the list goes on.
We're expecting 200 (cute) guys and 200 (cute girls), all of whom will indulge on X-Rated Fusion Liqueur cocktails (such a sexy drink) and a little Dentyne (a minty makeout is the best kind).
