Jessica Simpson - Black Isn't Always Slimming

Jessica Simpson is just over 5 feet tall, and though she's in seriously great shape, she's still got curves. Hence why she occasionally gets called out for having "fat" days -- really, they're just the effect of a bad outfit.

Unfortunately, today is another one of those days. Or rather, yesterday was, when Jessica found out the hard way that black isn't always the most slimming choice.

The black turtleneck and blazer weren't body-skimming enough to show off Jess's petite frame, and the high-waisted leggings just amplified her butt and thigh area, making Jess look curvier than she really is. See the outfit for yourself below, as well as more star ensembles that missed the mark:

Wearing black is supposed to be slimming, right? Well... Jessica Simpson demonstrates one exception to the rule. Even though Jess has an enviable figure, these high-waisted pants only amplify her every curve, making hips and thighs look bigger than they really are. And yes, we know -- she still looks great. We're just saying that the hips (and crotch!) don't need to be the central focus of the outfit.

My God leave this woman alone. She looks beautiful no matter what she weighs. I am so tired of the media trying to slam woman who are not 98 lbs! Jessica looks fine.. thick or thin!
