Hayden Panettiere's New Red Hair

"Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere has transformed her famous blonde locks into a spicy, ginger 'do.

The pint-size actress was spotted on January 20, 2010 with her new red hair (and boxer boyfriend, Wladimir Klitschko) at the Miami International Airport. We love that she had the guts to make a huge hair transformation, but the shade of copper totally washes out her sun-kissed skin.

Why did the star go red? "Because I could!" the Heroes star, 21, told UsMagazine.com at the NYC premiere of Temple Grandin. "I was tired of being a blonde and being... you get stuck in one thing and known for one thing and as a cheerleader or whatever that image."

The "Heroes" star says the new look suits her better, too: "I'm typically a very fiery person anyway, but I just feel like cute and blonde and little is just so one category and one thing and changing my hair color, I feel like I don't have to overcompensate so much for the fact that I don't like being called cute or anything like that -- especially being all 5-foot-2 of me," she told Us.

she looked way better as a blonde. the red is washing her out too much. maybe if it was darker red??

I love it! It is ALWAYS fun to play with colors in our life. I believe that this is just not the greatest picture caught of hayden that I have seen taken but I love the color. Red is a fun once for a little while in our life. Yes, she does look better in other colors but she is beautiful and can pull this off. I am sure many people would not have the guts to go red. For that I me must give her credit. I mean would you do it? I know when I did twice before I loved it for a little while but it is a blast. It is not an easy color to pull often or for most. My hair is currently brown but like I said it is fun to play with with colors and she is a young gorgeous woman. Let this young cutie have her time being red! :)

it doesnt matter what you losers on the internet thinks. all that matters is what her heavyweight champ boyfriend thinks.

these people dont seek or need your approval to live their lives. how can you complain about her not being blonde when she's not a natural blonde in the first place?

you dont even exist to her.

Fiery new do? Where? That hair color is no where near fiery. Looks to be a mediocre and greasy brown color.

I think she looks wayyyyy better blonde when she had brown for heroes it didnt look good and reed doesnt look good either she should just stay blonde!!

I'm a huge fan of red hair but not totally sure this colour suits her skin tone. Rather than make her look vibrant and fiery it actually makes her look pale and uninteresting.
