Male Model Falls Down on Vivienne Westwood Runway

Good news. It looks like runway tumbles are an equal-opportunity employer.

Just ask this male model at Vivienne Westwood during the menswear fashion shows in Milan.

The catwalker hit the floor during the show and had to be helped up by a fellow model. And to really add insult to injury, he had to wear bright orange pants in public.

(Side note: Is it just us or is everyone in the front row smirking and smiling? Ice-cold!)

Of course, given that the theme for Westwood's Autumn/Winter 2010 show was the homeless (really!), we wouldn't be surprised if the trip was all part of the act. The madcap designer also sent models down the runway with shopping carts and plastic bags, so we wouldn't put it past her.

It's been a bad week for runway models. This catwalker slipped out of her shoes at Berlin Fashion Week.

It appears the runway is cardboard taped down with duct tape. I'm surprised there weren't more mishaps. And apparently Westwood is getting her ideas from Zoolander now. Derelicte anyone?

its a disgrace that they glamourize the misfortune of the homeless. as if being homeless is some kind of fad. did any of the proceeds from the homeless fashion go towards helpin the homeless.

or is it just cool to buy incredibly expensive clothes inspired by the rags the homeless wear? he should have broken his neck.

The clothes were the idea of the designer, not the model. I am sure that if you had the face and physique to model these clothes you would do it, as this man was likely paid a large sum. Somehow, I doubt you would have said "No!" to this job if it had been offered to you. You don't like the clothes? Fine, I am not a fan of this "Homeless" theme either. However, this comment, "he should have broken his neck." makes you come across as classless and ignorant.

You should do some research on Vivienne Westwood. You'll find that not only is most of her work about social awareness and a lot of her proceeds go to close the gap between classes but also she believes in reduces, reusing and recycling very strongly. She takes pride in making her clothes incredibly well so that people need not own 50 tshirts, but fewer, thus using less of the worlds resources. She uses renewable products for her work. Infact, just the fact that we're tlaking about it now means that to some degree she has been successful in her courses.
