What were you doing when you were 15?
We're going to guess not starting companies.
Ava Anderson – the brains behind her eponymous non-toxic skincare company – was inspired by a hazardous cosmetic report she read two years ago (at the tender age of 14, folks), when she realized that even so-called "natural" products on the market often contained harmful elements.
After becoming a toxic ingredient junkie and sweeping the cosmetic aisles for pure choices – not to mention Mom and Grandma's makeup bags - frustration led the precocious blonde to invent her own products that passed all non-toxic standards.
"Through a family friend, we found a manufacturer with research facilities that could develop and produce products to my standards. It was a great challenge to develop these revolutionary formulas and I had to reject many proposed formulations," says Anderson.
Ok, we're impressed.

Anderson's line includes skincare essentials from exfoliator to lip scrub, with a line of cosmetics coming soon. At about $20 a pop, these products are more affordable than many other all-natural products on the market.
And just like momma who is a lifetime small business owner, Anderson thinks strategically; her products are available for direct sale through other enterprising young reps like herself – giving young women the power to spread the word about safe, natural beauty while making a buck at the same time.
And we're also a little obsessed: Stay tuned for an interview with Ava coming later this week!
