Or a "Fashion Island," at least, which is pretty much the same thing in our books.
Word has it that Victoria Beckham was offered £25 million (approximately $40.3 million) to help design a luxury hotel on Dubai's fashion-themed Isla Moda, the Mirror reports.
Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, Dubai's ruler, even personally wrote to Beckham, urging her to join the project after meeting her last year, according to the paper.
Beckham -- who has also been fielding offers to join "American Idol" as a stylist -- would reportedly be responsible for designing the rooms, selecting furnishings and overseeing staff uniforms.
"Even in these credit-crunched times, the fee offered to Victoria was astronomical," an insider told the source. "She was absolutely stunned.
"The parties have been emailing each other for a number of months. The sum offered was incredible and Victoria obviously loves Dubai.
"But if she accepts, she wants to be very hands-on and involved with all the decision making. She's not just going to put her name to anything for money. It has to be a fantastic project."
Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for Beckham offered the paper this vague statement: "Victoria is always keen to look at ways of growing her business but for now her focus is New York Fashion Week next month."
Isla Moda, also known as "Fashion Island," is one of nearly 300 man-made islands compromising Dubai. According to Arabian Business, the island, developed by Dubai Infinity Holdings, is "the world's first island devoted entirely to fashion," complete with first-class boutiques and fashion-themed villas.
