Craftsmanship of the day: Chanel is known for its extraordinary attention to detail when it comes to haute couture. With that in mind, consider this: one pale pink chiffon rosette dress took a painstaking 700 hours to make, while a matching blue shift and jacket were composed of 13,000 hand-cut satin flowers.
Celeb-spotting: On hand to watch Chanel's ethereal showing was an expecting Claudia Schiffer, French chanteuse Charlotte Gainsbourg, Bond girl Olga Kurylenko, TV personality-cum-designer Alexa Chung and omnipresent couple du jour Kanye West and Amber Rose. Late in the evening, Ciara reportedly showed up unfashionably late to the Givenchy show, causing photographers to boo. She eventually took her seat next to Lou Doillon and, of course, blogging wunderkind Tavi.
Couture, Italian-style?: According to Women's Wear Daily, Gucci's Frida Giannini is currently working on a debut couture collection. But you won't see it on the Paris runways next season - it will be available on a by-appointment basis for celebrities' red-carpet needs. We're looking forward to seeing Gucci with about 10,000 times more bling.

Beauty obsession: Yesterday's dramatic two-tone hair at Alexis Mabille has gave way to white highlights, painted onto blondes and brunettes at Chanel, before it was bunched into two enormous Minnie Mouse-style buns and accessorized with a chiffon bow. At Givenchy the focus wasn't so much on hair (that was slicked and parted down the middle) as it was severely heavy eye makeup with...wait for it...bleached brows....again! You may recall that this was a beauty trend last season as well!
