Ulta Launches Bargain Beauty Brand Essence

And now one of our favorite beauty supply shops – Ulta – is introducing a color line called Essence in April that will have an average product price of $2, reports WWD today.
"Products are fancy, fun and high quality. They are perfect for anyone looking to try something new," says Petra Schonegger, a spokeswoman for parent company Cosnova Inc.
Essence was originally launched in Germany in 2001, and has been so popular that one in every five beauty products sold in Germany today is an Essence product.
In addition to classic products like polish and gloss which are packaged in a distinctly girly style, the brand also offers whimsical items that lend themselves to experimentation like nail stampers, vibrant shadows and glitter eyeliner. And if those disco ball-eyed days are behind you, Essence also plans on introducing four to six limited edition seasonal collections this year.
Bonus? The brand doesn't test on animals, and we hear the most expensive product is their mousse foundation at just $4.99 a tin.
Now that's the kind of extravagant pricing we can get used to.
