Dresses weren't the only asymmetric feature at the 2010 Grammy Awards.

The hair was pushed over too. Taylor Swift and Lea Michele put a new twist on the side swept hair we saw so much of at the SAG awards, with bangs that favored the right.

"I love a side swept bang because I think it is so feminine and sexy, which is exactly what Lea and I wanted her hair to be for the Grammy's," celebrity hair stylist Mark Townsend told StyleList shortly after creating Michele's look.

The great thing about this style? It instantly updates your look, it's easy, and it looks great on anyone.

"Anyone can wear a side swept bang," explains Townsend. "It is flattering for every face shape and is an instant hair style, because on those days when you are rushing out the door all you have to do is quickly blow out your bangs and pull the rest of your hair into a ponytail."

Townsend styled Michele's fringe using this tip: "I mixed Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream and Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray in my hand and then raked my hands through Lea's hair to give it amazing shine with light, natural hold."

And you don't even have to have the real thing to rock the side swept bang.

"For women who aren't ready to commit to cutting a fringe, you can clip on a bang piece," suggests Townsend. "I get mine from garlanddrake.com and they are so easy to use."

We can vouch for the fact that clip in bangs are amazingly simple to use. For the step-by-step, watch our Hair Basics video.
