It wasn't only Katy Perry's new engagement ring that people were fixating on at last night's Grammys.

Adorable actress Kristen Bell surprised viewers with a little ring finger hardware of her own.

Indeed, Bell's rep confirmed to US Weekly that the actress' boyfriend of two years, comedian Dax Shepard, 35, popped the question over the holidays and Bell, 29, accepted.

Her glittering prize? According to Platinum Guild International, a gorgeous Neil Lane Platinum ring comprised of one emerald cut diamond, weighing in at over 3 carats, accented by smaller white diamonds.

The Diamond Information Center estimates the ring's worth to be $100,000. You did great, Dax!

Bell's fancy-colored sparkler perfectly complemented the dark Etro dress that she donned as one of the evening's presenters alongside Fergie's husband Josh Duhamel (Kristen's "When in Rome" co-star).

"Platinum holds diamonds more securely, which is especially important since you wear your engagement ring every day so you don't need to worry about the stone falling out," explains a spokesperson for Platinum Guild International about the popularity of platinum rings among celebrity couples.

Platinum engagement rings and wedding bands will last forever since you don't lose any metal, making it heirloom jewelry.



Conveniently, the happy couple has been in a wedding state of mind of late; Shepard also stars in the just released romantic comedy alongside Bell and Duhamel, which centers around a wedding.
