High waists, it turns out, are not so hard to fix. You don't even have to hide them; you just have to know what to do to complement them.

In this episode of "My Body, My Style," Sam Saboura helps create a knock-out work outfit for Ashley, who has a high waist she just doesn't love.

Beyond helping her pick the right clothes, he also teaches two great style lessons for anyone: Pay attention to what you put on underneath, and pay as much attention to what you expose as what you cover up.

You can also see Ashley's casual look here. Big bust more of an issue? Take a look at Sam's advice for Genelle.

That was a stupid comment wide childe. How does this woman need to grow up? If anyone needs to grow up it's you. Yeah, there are more serious problems but it doesn't mean we can't get tips on finding clothes decent for our bodies. This is much more useful than what some useless reality star ate for lunch. If you're gonna be such a drama queen how about you stop making little frivolous comments, pull up your sleeves, and help build some shelters in Haiti.

You must be an obama supporter. Listen, if you don't have anything good to say keep your mouth closed. You sound like a retard. All the world's problems would fix themselves if idiots would stop trying to intervene.

Am I missing something? Last I checked, being "leggy" was something that men desired. Having a high waist is something a girl should be proud of, not seeking a fix for.

It's true--this is downright unimportant, except fot Wilde and me--apparently! Seriously though, have you ever noticed a supposedly "beautiful" women whose belly-button is right under her boobs and thought how ridiculous she looked? Or even bikini pics that have enough room between navel and panties that you could play checkers on her belly--better she had more suit that came higher!

Wearing clothes that actually FIT, does wonders for hiding what is wrong with your body. I cna't figure out whether her jeans don't fit correctly, or the shirt is too tight (it shows a lot of bulges) - proper fitting clothes and shoes (not wearing them because they're "cute) can go a long way to making a person look either like a slob, or put together... the dress is pretty and does a lot for her... now, where I would I wear it, other than feeding chickens? Wear the proper size and fit, and you can look like a million bucks in Value City $5.00 jeans...

Try exercising. It has helped many of my clients fit into their clothes. Plus it helps one to be happier with their self image.

Sorry, but exercising won't do a thing for someone with a high waist, I know, I am one of those women. I had a tummy tuck and the plastic surgeon had one heck of a time trying to figure out where to relocate my belly button. He had to put it lower than normal because it would have ended up being right at my waist. I didn't have a weight issue, my skin was all stretched out from having large babies and having a high waist didn't help me at all during my pregnancies. The baby had no room to move and it caused my skin to stretch and tear with every move the baby made. I would love to have a longer waist line, it would sure help in getting clothes to fit better.

Yes, she looked a lot better. Well, we live in America where we see too many women walking around in a levi pant and a t-shirt. We are pretty much out of style. And ... let me tell you about the high waist. Do you notice that many old men tend to strap their pant above their navel? I tried to figure out for a long time why they did that all the time. It was until I figured out when it happened to ME! The truth is that old men have FLAT BUTT that couldn't hold up their pant. Hmm, that is the truth. I can say the same for fat people, too. You gotta have a round hard butt. For old men, they need to work on their butt and for fat people, lose weight. That's enough for tonight. My name is "What?! And good night!

I wish this guy would lend Michelle Obama a hand and some dressing advice. MO just doesn't know how to flatter her figure and hide flaws. She has a high waist, small shoulders and wide hips and is constantly wearing the "Boob belts", little bitty sweaters that make her look like the hulk, and huge skirts that emphasize all the wrong stuff. This guy is great and could make our First Lady look more like a National Treasure. For anyone who has a problems with all of us focusing on looks, you ought not to be on this site, and you're a bit of a fool because looks play a huge part in how all of us judge people, it's why we have eyes.

High waisted woman? Yep - That's me! For years, I struggled with what to wear that would look flattering, but to no avail. Then, the low-rise jeans came into style...my savior! lol I went out and tried on a pair of low waisted jeans and voila! My high waist was gone. I bought several pairs at once. Every time I saw a good sale on them, I bought a pair because I thought to myself "these are eventually going to go out of style and I won't be able to find them anymore at the stores." Well, it honestly fixed my problem. I also have the opposite problem of heavyset women - I'm, a size 0-2. Some might think "what the hell is she complaining about?" Well, I have a hard time gaining weight and keeping it on because of an extremely high metabolism. I had my thyroid checked a dozen times, so I know it's not that. I am in my mid 40's, and still have to shop in the juniors dept. because that's the only place who sells low cut jeans. I don't want to be accused of trying to dress like a teenager, so it forces me to get creative with the styles I wear. Anyway, those of us who have high waists know how crappy and dumpy we can appear to look, so I for one, am grateful for this article. There is only so much time you can spend watching and reading about the rest of the serious problems our country is facing. Sometimes, you just need a break from it. Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now...
