HAIR: Rolando Beauchamp for Bumble and Bumble
NAILS: Jin Soon Choi for Sally Hansen
SNAPSHOT: 60s bad girl, gone good.
THE SCOOP: With long, lid-skimming bangs and slept-in eyes, the look at Cynthia Steffe was a current take on 60s mod. "They're the cool girls you'd see on the streets of London and Paris, who didn't tease their hair, and smoked cigarettes in cafes with tall, skinny dudes," explained hair stylist Rolando Beauchamp.
"It's a modern take on what was once mod" added makeup artist Christian McColloch. "We were inspired by the movies An Education and A Single Man which are both 60s stories told in a contemporary setting."
The look was all about the bangs, which were actually hair pieces that Beauchamp attached with a bit of glue (as opposed to a clip) for extra flatness. He twisted the ends with a flat iron to create "imperfect bends" for a slept-in look. McColloch called the makeup "bad girl gone good" as he smudged black eye liner deep into the lashline for a "cleaned up smoky eye."
Manicurist Jin Soon Choi painted nails a pretty shade of clear white, to match the feminine clothing.
GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP: All makeup by M.A.C. Eyes were lined with Eye Liner in Black, with a few layers of Mascara in Black on the lashes. Lips got a smear of Lip Conditioner in Petting Pink, and cheeks looked flushed thanks to Blush in Lilicent.
GET THE LOOK - HAIR: All hair products by Bumble and Bumble. For slept-in texture, cocktail together Styling lotion and Prep and work through the ends of the hair before heat styling with a flat iron.
