THE SCOOP: With the multitude of layers in Nicole Miller's Fall 2010 collection, lead makeup artist James Kaliardos mimicked this with a layered look that was "sweet, hazy and really beautiful."
"I haven't done makeup like this for so long," said Kaliardos, recalling the vibrant shades of spring that he's used to painting on. "But we're doing something quite traditional because the clothes are very aggressive and edgy looking. I wanted them made up -- giving them a face to wear."
There were three key elements to the models look: a gray, smoky eye, rosy cheeks and a stained lip. "It's not black [on the eyes]. It's gray," said Kaliardos. "Gray is the new black."
GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP: All products by MAC. Start with a clear and even complexion by using Face and Body Foundation and concealer where needed. Press charcoal gray eye shadow into the lashline, keeping the product at the center of the brush. Move upwards until shade disappears right before crease. Coat top lashes with lots of Studio Fix Lash in Black Fix. Finish look by smoothing pucker with Lip Treatment and brushing on Lipstick in Plum Dandy.
