THE SCOOP: This relatively new line, founded in 2008 by Brooklyn-based designer Max Osterweis, reportedly counts none other than Michelle Obama, Rihanna and Gwen Stefani among its fans. Inspired by the designer's family vacations to Kenya, where he spent more than ten years collecting textiles, Suno boasts fabrics, textures and colors that clearly articulate the label's African origin and influence. Hair and makeup only extended that story at the label's fall presentation.

"The material of the clothes, there are these textiles, and it has this African touch so we wanted a bit of a giraffe look," said master stylist Odile Gilbert, who constructed a massive stand-up-straight style on top of the girls' heads that extended several inches into the air, recalling the very long neck of a giraffe. Gilbert incorporated black, silvery fabric from the collection, braiding the shimmery pieces into the hair for a look that was truly out-of-this world.

To temper colorful clothes and such statement-making hair, lead artist Carole Colombani went easy on the makeup, focusing instead on shimmering translucent skin and strong eyebrows. "The eyebrows were the link between the hair and the makeup and because you have really wide hair, the eyebrows are wide too," said Colombani, who filled in brows slightly messy and wide. "I didn't want to much color on the face but wanted to play to play on the lights."

GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP:
All products by M.A.C. On skin, Colombani applied Mineralize Foundation SPF 15 and Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder. On eyes, Courtly Eyeshadow. Luna Cream Color Base was placed on temples and cheek bones. Silver Dusk was applied over Luna and used to highlight bridge of nose. Brows were filled in with the appropriate color and combed with the Beguile Brow Set.

Odile crimped hair then braided fabric into locks, before securing it vertically atop the girls' heads.
