SNAPSHOT: Tribal warrior princess treks across the desert
THE SCOOP: Similiar to Malandrino's last collection, Fall 2010 was mused by nomadic clans of the desert - and the beauty look took on the dramatic costuming of a desert warrior princess.
Makeup inspired by an Asian tribal look revealed sweeping, cat-like eyes that drew out well beyond the outter eye corner, as well as high cheekbones and a naturally nude lip.
Most striking of all, hair stood on the top of the head "like a tree" - in a busheled, dry sprout reminiscent of desert shrubbery. Don't try this at home, folks.
And nails were textured and looked like leather, in a futuristic taupey-gray shade.
GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP: All makeup by M.A.C. Instead of just using Contour Bronzer Powder on cheeks, Pecheaux also blended it onto the lids and crease to extend the shape of the eye into an Asian-inspired edge, and accented the contour and outter corners with a new shadow for Fall called Tarnished Bronze. Lots of black eyeliner pencil filled the lower rim of the lids, and pouts stayed simple with neutral lip conditioner.
GET THE LOOK - HAIR: All products by Phyto. After applying Mousse Volume to strands, hair was rough dried wiith hands aggressively massaging the roots for volume, Texturizing Paste was then added to create even more fullness before hair was swept right to the top of the head in a folded-over ponytail with wisps pulled out for a tougher look. Lots of Workable Holding Spray kept the creation in place.
GET THE LOOK - NAILS: Nails by CND. To achieve a milky chocolate gray-taupe shade, first apply Dark Ruby followed by Copper Shimmer. Then add a layer of Super Matte Topcoat to make the nail beds look like leather.
