WHAT WE THOUGHT: It is rare to have a designer walk a room of full of editors through each piece of their collection during Fashion Week. It is even more unlikely when that person is also a supernova celeb in her own right. But, as she often repeated, Victoria Beckham is working hard to earn her designer stripes and she continued to impress with this collection. Her typical vacuum-sealed, VB jerseys were there, of course, and came in astonishing colors representative of hues taken from the comic Dick Tracy.

Beckham was particularly proud of this season's offering because she learned how to play with drape. Literally. "That gold dress, I pulled (it) up like that in the showroom and thought, 'oh that looks good,'" she told the editors. "It's probably not the most technical way to do it," she mused.

Other standouts were a sleeveless number she called her "black orchid dress" and another sleeveless tan, hand-pinned gazar dress that she said she "lost a lot of sleep over until it was perfect." The updated collection showed the former pop star's dedication to improving and being taken seriously. "I'm my own competition," she said afterward. "I want to get better with each season." Mission accomplished!
