THE SCOOP: Yeohlee Teng is known for creating pieces with an architectural appeal -- playing with cut, movement and texture. And for Yeohlee's Fall 2010 collection, the makeup mimicked this element of design for a space age look.
Lead makeup artist Itsaki stayed true to the designer's plea for simplicity, but she took it up a few notches with a gritty eye. "Yeohlee likes natural makeup so I wanted to maintain that with minimum foundation and a little blush on the skin," said Itsaki. "But I added a bit of color with silver for a futuristic, yet graphic look."
Using a paint brush, Itsaki added subtle movement to the face. "I'm always trying to get texture there and most makeup brushes are very soft and you wouldn't be able to achieve that using those. I was looking for something to get that look and found those paint brushes."
