HAIR: Whitney Blischke for TIGI
BEAUTY SNAPSHOT: Day-to-Night Glamour
THE SCOOP: She might be best known for her role on "Keeping up the Kardashians" or her relationship with New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush, but Kim Kardashian has been quite the busy girl this year, trying her hand at the very serious business of beauty and fashion. The Los Angles native was here in New York last night launching her new Kim Kardashian fragrance at Sephora, and today she was front-and-center at the Kardashians for BeBe show-a collection that she and her sisters collaborated on with the sexy retail-chain.
To compliment the assortment of black jersey dresses and leather skirts and jackets that were sent down the runway, makeup artist Nathalie Bechard created a sultry eye that didn't look all that different from Kim's. "The direction that I got was to take this look from a woman who is working during the day to going out partying at night," said Bechard. "So it's a day-friendly smokey look with a bit of dimension and depth on the outer corner." Translation? Very wearable, but still very sexy. To do this, she combined a palette of gray, pewter and green for a very soft look that created maximum impact. Cheeks received a creamy highlight and soft rose blush that paired perfectly with a nude pink lip.
Hair also took on an approachable but quite beautiful feel, worn wavy and down, with a somewhat matte finish. "Kim wanted an effortlessly glamorous look, and she liked this because it looks like it can easily be done," said stylist Whitney Blischke. "One of the biggest trends in hair and color right now is having darker roots going into lighter ends for a variation in texture and color, so what we're doing with the models is working in a dry shampoo for a matte finish, but also using a shine product at the ends, which gives you the visual effect of having that variation."
GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP: On eyes, apply Make Up Forever Aqua Liner in Star Black, Make Up Forever Aqua Black Waterproof Cream Eye Shadow and Make Up Forever Diamond Powder. For the skin, use Dior's Nude Natural Glow Hydrating Makeup and YSL's Touche Éclat Radiant Touch. Paint lips with Sephora Rouge Cream Lipstick in Mmmm...and Sephora Nano Lip Liner in Candid Candy.
GET THE LOOK - HAIR: All products by TIGI. Blischke blew out air with Fashionista Spritz and Shine for a little bit of hold, (you can skip the brush and just power dry using your fingers). Apply Rockaholic Dirty Secret Dry Shampoo for a matte finish. Take large sections of hair and roll under with a large barrel curling iron. Roll all sections that are in front of your ears towards your face. Work in Your Highness Aerosol Dry Spray Shine on ends. Use hands to brush out for finished look.
