Pamella Roland Fall 2010 - Runway Review
Three looks from the Pamella Roland Fall 2010 runway. Photos: Imaxtree.com (3)
INSPIRATION: The dark glamour and decadent colors of Venice
TOP LOOKS: Short beaded dresses with a real Art Deco feel; a bias cut and draped marine blue gown we'll surely be seeing on the red carpet sometime soon; an asymmetric black sheath that was modern and classic
ACCESSORIES: A pretty jeweled cloche hat; jeweled legwarmers and tights
WHO WAS THERE: Brooke Shields, Alfre Woodard, Mena Suvari (whose hair looked darker than it was on Sunday), "America's Next Top Model's" Nigel Barker, and assorted stars of "The Real Housewives of New York City"
WHAT WE THOUGHT: Pamella Roland may not have the highest profile in the fashion industry, but her clothes are on the right red carpets and her ladies always look good. Roland is not afraid of using jewels and beading on everything and you can tell she's aiming for Hollywood by the number of gowns she showed on the catwalk.
It appears as though Roland has herself in mind when designing her collection, but we wish she'd edited her choices for us -- the show was about 10 embellished gowns too long. Speaking of long, Roland should also watch out for her trains. The model wearing the finale look -- a white "wedding" dress with shredded 3-D flowers - literally got stuck on the dress' train while turning in front of the photographers. Luckily, the patient, graceful model was able to untangle herself without taking a header.
Check out the hair and makeup details from Roland's show.
