SNAPSHOT: Graphic cubism with a chic and delicate edge
THE SCOOP: Mexican-born designer Christian Cota, created a Fall 2010 collection filled with delicate hand painted fabrics manipulated into edgy and structured pieces. The collection was dominated by colors made simple with clean and direct lines for a back-to-basics appeal. The hair and makeup teams collaborated to create a beauty look at once elegant and edgy, to make the clothing stand out beautifully.
Makeup artist Hung Vanngo chose simple makeup with a fierce accent (eyeliner with a square edge) to complement the polished lines and bold colors of the collection. "The makeup is semi-matte, which looks quite pretty and natural," said Vanngo.
Hair stylist Omar Lopez opted for blond wigs to accompany the collection of sleek designs. Lopez used bombshell blond wigs that he dyed even blonder to appear almost gray, after which he hand painted streaks of two different color schemes into the wigs; one a blue tone and the other copper. "They will look really stunning and completely uniform on the runway," said Lopez. "The clothes are so amazing so we wanted really pretty hair to go along with them."
