And get this: Fox looks almost demure on the cover, shot by photographer Craig McDean. The McDean photos inside the glossy, however, nod to her naughty-girl aspects.
While racing through the blockbuster "Transformers" movies and appearing as a demonic, guy-gobbling cheerleader in "Jennifer's Body," Fox became notorious for her unfiltered, titillating comments to the press.
W caught up with her on the set of the upcoming film "Passion Play." For her cover image, she dons a a silk jacket and pantsuit by her new employer, Giorgio Armani. David Yurman's quatrefoil diamond earrings drip from her ears. With gently waved hair and soft, natural makeup, Fox looks nearly tame.

The photos accompanying the feature article, on the other hand, have a tough, sexy edge even though Fox isn't showing much skin. Instead, there are military touches to her outfits, such as a Balmain tuxedo coat covered in military pins, army green Louis Vuitton pants and a heavy-duty Burberry canvas belt slung over a Lanvin dress.
Most overtly, she stands at attention in a starchy white Armani shirt with a cap tucked under her arm and a name tag on her chest. Her tousled hair, sultry expression and a certain, shall we say, perkiness suggest that she just got called up for misbehavior.
These no-frills pieces likely suit Fox personally, too. In her interview, she praised a pair of studded biker boots.
In contrast to this take-no-prisoners image, reporter Sarah Haight found Fox to be a bit hesitant, even self-critical. Fox spoke candidly about her acting anxieties, describing a lack of confidence and inhibiting "nerves" that counterbalance her ambition. Fox also touched on her wish for children, emphasizing "I'm really, really maternal."

She also has a great sense of humor -- despite her persona, she doesn't seem to take herself too seriously, which was refreshing."
But a few suggestive points slip out, too. The starlet sighed that shooting her Emporio Armani Underwear ads was challenging because her knockout curves "provoke a pinup image... [in lingerie] I'm a Vargas girl." Fox then planned to get yet another tattoo after the interview wrapped.
Does all this sound like another brunette femme fatale we know?
