Fashion Week's runway shows are so expensive and fleeting -- usually less than 10 minutes for the whole shebang -- and then it's over until next season.

Designer Marc Bouwer has found a way to not only make it last longer, but to also share it with a much broader audience than could ever fit into a Bryant Park Tent.

Bouwer has been doing virtual shows on the internet for the past few seasons, but this season, he's taking it a step further by filming a model, Victoria's Secret beauty Candice Swanepoel, in front of a green screen and then turning it into a three-and-a-half minute movie.

"It's a Kubrick-like sci-fi movie," Bouwer explains to StyleList. "She spends a lot of time walking, even in quadruplicate," all the while, showing Bouwer's full Fall 2010 collection.

The collection itself is much more avant garde than Bouwer has ever designed before. "Fashion has gone in a very futuristic direction. We've finally embraced the future."

And the future for Bouwer is dark. "I've used a lot of blacks for fall, but textural blacks in velvet, taffeta and raffia embroidered lace."

As for his inspiration, Bouwer constructed an elaborate tale. "Imagine if you bought a very expensive beautiful box of chocolates. There's a black velvet box with a dark red ribbon on it. There's burgundy tissue paper inside. All these gorgeous chocolates in jewel-tone metallic wrappers. You open them up and there's dark chocolate and black chocolate and that was my idea for the collection."

The full movie/presentation will debut on MarcBouwer.com starting at 9am on Thursday, February 18.

Next up for the designer is going after actresses to wear his dresses for the Academy Awards. "We're going out to Los Angeles," he said. "My real business is dressing celebrities because that's how we make our name. Hopefully," he said crossing his fingers. "Once in a while, we get one."

One he has gotten is Beyoncé, who wore his red dress for the launch of her perfume, Heat. "I've dressed Beyoncé for quite a few years," Bouwer explained. "She loves everything in the new collection. She wore two of my dresses in the space of a week."
