'The September Issue' DVD Giveaway

Enter for a chance to win "The September Issue" 2-disc DVD. Photo courtesy of Actual Reality Pictures

Whether you saw the movie, and you've been dying for the outtakes ever since, or you've been anxiously biting those manicured nails for months awaiting the DVD release, "The September Issue" can be yours to own Feb. 23; available where DVDs are sold, including on Amazon.

But winning it is so much more fun. The must-see documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look into the world of fashion. Director R.J. Cutler and his crew follow Vogue's legendary editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and her team of larger-than-life editors, as they create the magazine's biggest issue of the year. And StyleList is giving away 10 copies of the 2-disc DVD.

The movie, itself, is reason enough to bring home the DVD, but Cutler tells us the extras make it a style-lover's dream.

"If you love fashion, you'll just go crazy for this stuff," he says.

Cutler adds that you'll find more scenes of Wintour working in her office, spending the night at the Seventh on Sale benefit and putting together the Met Costume Institute Gala.

"There's great stuff with André Leon Talley," he told StyleList. "You haven't lived until you've spent the day shopping with André in Paris and the entire sequence is included and is wonderful.

There's an awesome speech that André gives to a graduating high school class. In the film there's a great moment where André is with Vera Wang and he declares that there's been a 'famine of beauty' and an entire six minute scene around that moment is included on the DVD."

Cutler also says the DVD includes the entire sequence of Grace Coddington's couture shoot, lots of time with her at home and with her cats, as well as several more scenes with designer Thakoon.

Read our exclusive interview with "The September Issue" director, R.J. Cutler, in its entity.

I'd be one of the plucky interns with a heart of gold who has a lot to learn, before she makes it... because I have a lot to learn before I make it.

(Ideally this would be in some movie/TV reality, where those plucky interns somehow also manage to have sweethearts and killer apartments).

I would be the creative director, like Grace Coddington. I'd use my eye for fashion and imagery to create whimsical, fantastical settings in which gorgeous models would frolic and play.

I'd be creative director or editor-in-chief. They are my dream jobs. I'd love to come up with ideas for the shoots and pick out the clothes and theme and stuff. And I'd love to edit down the magazine to suit my vision that I want to present to the world.

I would be the editor. Your in charge of everything that goes in and you get the joy and confidence of the finishing product, utterly rewarding. If fashion is a religion VOGUE is the bible, adore Anna and Vogue!!

My dream job is to be either Art Director or Creative Director of a fashion magazine. I am enthralled by fashion and photography. I am currently the assistant art director of my college's fashion magazine and I am hoping this will help me to where I want to be in the future.

I would hold the position of Creative Director of Fashion Editor. Why? Because the creative freedom and the art of creating a story through photojournalism would be as special to me because I know I'd put my sould and heart into it.

If I could choose any position, I'd go for the top and pick Editor-in-Chief. The EIC has the most creative control in the magazine and sets the tone for the entire issue. The EIC also gets to see all aspects of the magazine, accessories, fashion stories, the cover and always has the final say.

if i worked at a fashion magazine, my position would be creative director. organizing photo shoots and getting everything together to ensure that the shoot was perfection would be tremendous.

well, since your comment was completely irrelevant to the topic given, i'd say there is no reason for you to call everyone else's comment boring and predictable.

The position that I would like to hold at a fashion magazine is the editor-in-chief position. As I was more informed about this job by watching the documentary, "The September Issue", this job comes with a lot of responsibilities as I would oversee every small detail that gets published in the magazine. I am very detailed-oriented and I love paying attention to the smallest details. I would like to see that my magazine would inspire people of different ages to have a better sense of knowledge about fashion and try to experiment more with what they've already got in their closets and the current trends.

I would be features editor. Sourcing the top and most current stories. Ensuring that the best of trends would be highlighted and throwing in stories on new up and coming designers, trends and events. I love to be current if not slightly ahead of the curve.

I would be a creative director or stylist / makeup artist on the set of shoots. Since that is what I do in real life. If not I would be doing my dream job as one of the designers on the cover of the mag.

I would love to follow in Grace Coddington's footsteps, but I'd settle for Anna Wintour's job so I could be a bitch and rule the fashion world. I could even enjoy working the glue binding machine that prepares the proofs for the sample book Wintour reviews and stamps for approval – or disapproval – prior to publication. (I know. Get a life, Dahlia!)
