DESIGNER: Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein

INSPIRATION: "Confident and sleek;" the long lean shape of the calla lily flower

TOP LOOKS: Double faced wool jacket with wrap skirt; ivory silk crepe blouse with leather sleeves, super-slick high-waisted pant; black cashmere cape with long-sleeve dress; embossed pocket coat with turtleneck and stretched trouser; cobalt blue shifts; long-sleeve silver lurex column dress

ACCESSORIES: Circular and metal-heeled boots with lug soles in black and cream; gunmetal silver slim heels with ankle strap; criss-cross pumps

WHO WAS THERE: Kerry Washington, Kate Bosworth, Daphne Guinness, Steven Klein, Naomi Watts, Isabel Lucas, Whoopi Goldberg

WHAT WE THOUGHT: After a week of watching designers layer every which way 'til Tuesday, Francisco Costa's elegantly minimal collection was like a breath of fresh air. He debuted sculptural new shapes (such as the sloped shoulder and elongated, tube-like sleeves in coats and the suit above) and sticked to a palette that consisted of black, white, and silver (with the exception of two punctuating pieces in cobalt blue). The opening round of bonded viscose and cupro coat and shift were so technically executed that they looked liquid as they went by while the last look, a long form lurex silver gown was sheer genius.
