Keds' parent company Collective Brands announced today that the company would be partnering with Gap for a joint Fall 2010 collection.
Slated to hit select Gap stores in July, the Gap + Keds Collection will feature special editions of the classic "Champion" style sneaker and an updated vintage style -- the "Anchor," for men. Prices will range from $40 to $50 per pair.
"Gap has always stood for creativity and individuality and this collaboration with Keds is another example of how we help our customers express their individual style by offering exclusive, innovative new products," Pam Wallack, President of Gap Adult & Body, said in a statement.
On the pairing, Kristin Kohler Burrows, president of Keds, told StyleList exclusively:
"We felt this was a perfect collaboration as it is two iconic brands coming together. Both brands have a rich history in American fashion -- Gap and Keds is a natural partnership."
Plus, Burrows added a note in the company's statement on the sneaker brand's collaborative spirit: "Today Keds represents the creative freedom of America's Blank Canvas -- perfect to apply a range of creative talent to develop a variety of fresh contemporary new styles."
