THE SCOOP: Mark Fast only completed his MA at Central St Martins in 2008, but he has accomplished a lot since then. Fast has collaborated with Bora Aksu, Loewe and Christian Louboutin while creating artisitc knitwear designs for his own line. For his A/W 2010 show, statues and sculptures were the inspiration, something which makeup artist Emma White-Turle was influenced by too. Speaking about her vision for the look, White-Turle said it was the ethereal image of 'Tilda Swinton as a statue' that she was drawn to. 'It's very etheral and otherwordly. We wanted the girls to have that inner glow but remain statuesque'. Turle-White made the models look as statue-like as possible by not using mascara, because 'when you look at a statue, it doesn't have any eyelashes'. She also emphasised the body by highlighting the models' collar bones, elbows, knuckles with strobe cream to add extra glow on the catwalk.
GET THE LOOK MAKEUP: To achieve the otherwordly shine, Turle-White used M.A.C Mineralize products, and what she called her 'current favourite', Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle Soft to highlight cheekbones and brows. Studio Sculpt Concealer was used over the face to take down the colour and keep the shade neutral. On the eyes, she used Vanilla Pigment, with tan and naked shades of eyeshadow, which were blended together to highlight the inner corner of the eye and to open them up. Colour was kept to a minimum on the lips, using Studio Sculpt Concealer once again, and a touch of the Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle brushed over the top.
GET THE LOOK HAIR: Hair was kept sporty, fresh and modern with sculptured styles. The stylists' key products were TIGI Strong Mousse to keep high top-knots firmly in place and TIGI Catwalk Root Boost for added lift and volume.
