Jane Fonda Admits to More Plastic Surgery 10 Years After Swearing It Off

Vain Jane? A newly taut Jane Fonda with the First Lady of California, Maria Shriver, earlier this month. Photo: AP

Apparently all those lotions and potions that 72-year-old Jane Fonda has been endorsing as the face of L'Oreal Paris are not the only secret behind her youthful glow.

Fonda is bluntly facing up to recently having undergone a few nips and tucks. Her latest procedures are a surprise -- not because she admits to having them -- but because she famously swore off cosmetic surgery 10 years ago.

News of these procedures comes from a posting on Fonda's own blog, where the controversial celebrity writes about the V-Day -- an organization that fights to end violence against women and girls -- luncheon at the famed Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, Calif.

Fonda arrived sporting a new, softly layered shaggy 'do, as well as a high neck scarf and sunglasses, in hopes that it might distract attention away from the work she had on her chin, her neck and on the bags under her eyes.

However, when Hollywood producer Robert Evans complimented the haircut, Fonda fessed up. Evans thought it was so funny that, "He actually toasted me for doing what he'd never heard anyone do before: admit they'd had work done," the actress wrote.

Clearly, Evans doesn't move in the same circles as surgery proud Heidi Montag.

Fonda confesses that despite her decade-long resolution to just say no to the knife, "this year I got tired of not looking like how I feel and I wanted a more refined chin like I used to have and I changed my mind."

Um, maybe she also wanted to look her "best" for the new fitness videos she'll begin shooting next month.

The star says she had every intention of speaking about the procedures... eventually. "I'm writing a book about aging so I very well couldn't NOT talk about it," she explained.

"I wish I'd been brave enough not to do anything, but instead, I chose to be a somewhat more glamorous grandma."

While those who are not so "fonda" Jane will have a field day with her revelations, the wrinkle in this tale is her honesty. She deserves credit for not letting the masses buy into the Hollywood mythology that all those aerobic workouts and face creams kept her looking young.

We're also relieved she opted not to erase every wrinkle from her face, leaving her character-providing crows feet intact, though we do wonder what Fonda's buddy, actress Sally Field, has to say about the news: The two had made a public "no more plastic surgery pact."

Meanwhile, check out another AARP-worthy star and her sexy new photo shoot for H&M.

I cringe every time I see this person's name in the news. Jane Fonda was, and is still, the TRAITOR BITCH, as she earned the name by befriending the North Vietnamese in the 1960's. The only place I want to see her name and/or picture is in the urinal at my favorite veterans' club. I wish the news reporting agencies would learn about her background and stop giving her space in their respective newspapers, magazines, articles, etc. Everytime I see her name and/or picture displayed, I will immediately cease to consider that news outlet as credible.

Poor Gary, he doesn't even know a real traitor when he sees one, you need therapy so you can move on, she admitted her youthful mistakes and it's not up to us to judge her. She's been helping vets for 30 years, by the way. You should learn to let it go, you'd be a much happier person, poor b____.

Sorry that you pro Vietnam War lemmings were born stupid and gullible. Everyone one now admits that war was a mistake. Jane Fonda was just smarter and braver than you were to risk her life protesting that senseless war. I'm sorry that you and the thousands of others risked or lost their lives for the benefit of the military machine that profited greatly from our involvement there. Jane is a hero and beautiful at any age.

I was born in 1949 and remember very well everything Jane Fonda did since she vowed never to work in Hollywood again and then protested the Viet Nam war. Well, she sure changed her mind and went back to Hollywood then married Ted Turner to bring her life back to living the high life. I don't think she should have been given a second chance in the movie business and I sure don't believe anything she would ever have to say. She is as dishonest as she is ugly. No amount of surgery will ever make her easier to look at.

Gary: Get over it. Do you consider Bush a traitor? He lied to the American Public telling us that Iraq had Wepons of Mass Destruction. Did we find any? NO!!! He wanted Hussan because his daddy couldn't get him during the Gulf War. Not only did he betray the American public he got thousands of people killed. At least Fonda didn't get anyone killed. We never should have put troops into Vietnam. It wasn't our war to fight. And did we win that war? NO!!! It was only through the efforts of the American People that the government decided to pull out of Vietnam. I lived though the Vietanam war, many of my buddies died there. I have never thought of Fonda as a trator she was demonstrating her "FREE SPEACH" Something more people should do against these two wars we are in now. Young people should take to the streets and stop these wars. Do you keep track of the body count? if not you should, over 5,000 American soldiers have already died, and thousands of others dead. 35,000 American soliders have suffered sevear injuries. You have have the right of free speach, Fonda has the right of free speach, all Americans have the right to FREE SPEACH. No Republican or Democrat spoke out in public about what a horrible President Bush was. But as soon as Obama got into office the Republican party has used him for a punching bag. What about what Limbaugh said that to speak out against the president during a war made other countries believe that Americans didn't stant together. As soon as Obama got into office he started SLAMMING Obama. No matter what you think of Obama, you have to respecte the position of President. The Republican party has seemed to have forgotten that. Anyway that's my take on it and that's MY FREE SPEACH

American Soldiers lost their precious lives because of that .... ....that ..... woman.

My skin crawls to look at her.She never has repented or BEGGED the parents of those soldiers for mercy.Never.
If my son or daughter were killed because of a no good commie traitor....

plastic surgery would be the very least of worries for that one.

Gary, the folks here that never experienced the pain of war and never got to serve their country just don't know. We see it in the all areas of America, people that will not or cannot muster the courage to help America, don't hesitate to aid those that would destroy our beloved nation.
War never solved anything, unless you count nazism, racism or communism.

Ignorant, Hateful people like "Terri Whittemore," "repukeleslie," " dugandob," "Vanessa," "Visconti24," "Pat," "Jay,"ed baggett," et.al, have absolutely NO IDEA what they are talking about! This involves a lot more than one's rights to free speech: there is no statute of limitations on murder, and Fonda's treason (she, admittedly, was guilty of aiding and giving comfort to the enemy, in a time of war), which led to the death of at least one, and possibly many more, American servicemen, has gone COMPLETELY UNPUNISHED for all of these years. You America Haters can hold her up as your heroine, but nothing will ever change the fact that she crossed enemy lines during a time of war, to provide whatever help she could to the people who were killing our servicemen and women every day! - Even Tokyo Rose served seven years, and she was almost certainly an innocent person railroaded by Harry Truman! Hanoi Jane should be in jail! ! !

By the way, "dugandob:" until you take a course in "English as a second language," you should ask an American what a "lie" is. You have no concept. If you want to accuse George Bush of lying, remember that the same beliefs were held and spoken of by people such as Bill and Hillary Clinton, and many people way out on the Left. Learn the language, learn some history, then come back and see if you are capable yet of carrying on an intelligent, informed, discussion! ! !

Perhaps if the people of your ilk would stop jumping up and down each time she is mentioned she would have gone away a long time ago. She is among the first celebrities to learn that a bad reputation pays as much if not more than a good reputation. She is milking you mister, sit down and shut up already.

"Steven:" Only losers "sit down and shut up" when an injustice has occurred. She may be getting publicity, but we Americans, at the same time, are getting another chance to educate the apathetic and uninformed (you seem to be at least one, if not both), of just what this traitor did to her former country, as she abandoned it during a time of war.

Who cares? She should have been hung years ago for treason.
We don't forget that easy Hanoi Jane.
For those of you that have no clue about this traitor, please do some homework. She was directly responsible for the death of at least one American POW during the Viet Nam war.

Hanoi Jane lied, plain and simple. gave aid and comfort to the enemy, then turned around and married a politician. she cares more about the price of mascara than she does the thousands of vets she owes a personal apology to. I find it difficult to forgive the woman who called the father that I only knew by way of family stories, several medals and ribbons, and a folded flag, a baby killer. if she really wants to make amends, just donate all her money to the USO, then find the nearest bridge.

Those who forget the past are doomed to relive it.
I moved on with my life after the war. However, that doesn't mean I forgive Hanoi Jane just because time has passed.
I don't dislike her for protesting the war, that was her right. Giving the enemy information that led to an American deaths, now that is unforgivable. I'm sure you wouldn't be so kind to her if it was your family member that she caused the death of.
