Alexa Ray Joel Signs With Prell, Follows Mom Christie Brinkley's Footsteps

Great hair runs in the family.

Alexa Ray Joel - daughter of the previously-married Christie Brinkley and Billy Joel - announced today that she is the new spokesmodel for Proctor & Gamble's Prell, the deep cleansing shampoo favored by the hair care industry in recent times for its side use as a hair dye remover and lightener. Brinkley had modeled in ads for the shampoo almost 25 years ago.

But daughter Alexa's ambitions aren't to become a cover girl; she follows Dad's lead as a singer-songwriter, and her music will be used as the soundtrack for the Prell ads - which insiders say was the main enticement in the contract.

"I am so excited and honored to be named the new face of Prell - especially following in the footsteps of my mother, who was a Prell girl," the 24 year-old brunette told The New York Post.

The partnership comes at a time of recovery for Alexa, who was ambulanced to a hospital from her West Village apartment on Dec 5th after swallowing a handful of pain killers. On Dec 31st, she rebounded and posted to her Facebook that she looks forward to exciting creative projects in the new year, and will work with girls in an initiative to relieve breakup-related depression.

Very happy news for such nice people! They sure seem to hold up with amazing kindness and graciousness regarding the fish bowl they live in where everyone feels the right to take shots and I LOVE that beautiful Alexa is following in mom's footsteps too!!! Just goes to show you, if your mom or Dad is a celebrity then you will be too. Come'on she sure isn't anything to look at and she can't sing. Just because your parents are either talented or good looking doesn't mean you will be.

Donna, dear i afarid you need GLASSES! The ONLY thing she got from her MOM is maybe her SMILE! Look at the shape of her face, her huge nose, broad/long forehead, big/sad/droopy eyes & a pale sickly complexion.She maybe nice & talented at music, but she is NOT attractive at all. good luck to her in the background of the music industry.
