Jeremy Scott Fall 2010 - Runway Review
Photos: Imaxtree.com (3)
DESIGNER: Jeremy Scott
INSPIRATION: The 90's, pin-ups, Barbie.
TOP LOOKS: Gray zip-up hoodie dress with all-over pin-up print, black knit mini-dress with a stained glass print, quilted silk dress coat with golden Jeremy Scott labels printed all over it.
ACCESSORIES: Thigh-high leather boots.
WHO WAS THERE: Kelly Osborne, Santogold, Irina Lazareanu, Estelle
WHAT WE THOUGHT: Jeremy Scott was all about fun, per usual, but while it seemed the crowd had a blast watching the show, we're wondering how many of these outfits we'll actually see outside of the runway. First there was the little black knitted dress that said 'Little Black Dress' on the back and a double-breasted coat printed with blown-up and plastic-covered care instructions ("100% Wool. Dry-Clean Only"), which both had a slightly Dadaist feel.
Then there were the black T-shirt dresses that came with life sized 3-D silhouettes strapped to the front, a Pierre Cardin-esque mustard coat with plastic cut-outs around the breasts and jackets featuring bulls eyes at the bust and back.
The most wearable pieces in the collection (although perhaps that's not the point) included zip-up hoodie dresses with pin-up prints, a quilted dress coat with flashy gold 'Jeremy Scott' labels printed all over it, and a (too) short black dress with a pretty stained glass print. However, only the latter two even looked worth a designer price tag.
In any case, Estelle, who was sitting front row, told us she wanted to wear it all on tour -- in other words, for entertainment purposes -- which is fitting.
