THE SCOOP: For Autumn/Winter, Alice Palmer's knitwear had a distinct rock and roll feel: the colors were black and gray, and the designs were all about the shapes, with spikes protruding from the clothing.
Lead makeup artist Wood emphasized this by creating Joan Jett-inspired makeup, while hairstylist Ricardo went for a warrior look. "The designer had pictures of the Batmobile in her studio, so bats were a big inspiration," Wood said. "But even though the look was rocky, I didn't want to go for the typical smoky eye, so I went for a really strong, sharp brow, for a Samurai feel."
GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP: Wood used Babycake Liner to get the models's angular, jet-black brows and defined eyes, and curled their lashes with "tons of Get Bent Lash Mascara" for the rock effect. A touch of Hoola Bronzer was used under the jawline, with a gold shadow to fill in the corners of the lids. Wood left skin "clean" and "perfect" to highlight the dark brows and eyes.
GET THE LOOK - HAIR: Ricardo said the hair was inspired by the Japanese geisha, with pointy sides that were almost hornlike. To incorporate the warrior feel, he created long, messy ponytails so the look wasn't too clean. Ricardo used Extra Strong Mousse to hold the styles in place and Sea Salt Spray to add lift to the tousled ponytails.
