But when the Council of Fashion Designers of America comes calling, you know bloggers are being taken seriously.
The CFDA is once again hosting its annual Fashion Awards this coming June and along with sending members, editors, stylists and retailers ballots, for the first time the Selection Committee included bloggers in the voter pool, reports WWD.
So, now aside from hobnobbing with fashion's heavy hitters, blog stars like 13-year-old Tavi will also have a say on who gets a crack at a prestigious CFDA award. (Presumably, those who make gigantic hair bows?)
And we won't be surprised if Tavi-favorite Rodarte has an encore win this year -- the sisterly duo won the coveted womenswear designer prize in 2009.
Decisions, decisions. Voters will have to make up their minds by March 12 and the nominees will be announced by sponsor Swarovski, back for its ninth year, and CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg on March 17.
A second round of voting will begin in mid-May before the award ceremony on June 7 at Alice Tully Hall located in Fashion Week's new home (as of next season), Lincoln Center.
Let the (fashion) games begin!
What's all this fuss over bloggers vs editors? A panel shed some light on the issue.
