In light of the fact that the flame will soon be extinct, we have decided to fondly take a closer look at some of the more iconic ensembles.
From Johnny Weir's trompe l'oeil feather unitard to Hannah Kearney's adorable braids to the advent of denim snowpants (not to be confused with pajama jeans), here are some of the finer fashion moments from the ceremonies.
The Best of Olympic Fashion
US figure skater Johnny Weir performs in the Men's Figure skating free program on February 18, 2010. His iconic costumes have peaked the nation's interest in the sport.
Gretchen Bleiler of the United States reacts after she crashed on her second run during the the women's snowboard halfpipe final on February 18th.
Though she might not have taking home the gold, we applaud her remarkable plaid and denim snowpants look.
(Perhaps she might also be interested in a little something we like to call pajama jeans?) LINK TO PAJAMA JEANS STORY
Prints were a big trend for spring, and gold medalist Hannah Kearney (LINK TO STORY) of the United States shows that they are a winner on the slopes too. The Vermont-native won took home the top accolade for her turn on the moguls. With her signature braids and penchant for prints, we'll give her one for style too.
USA's Lindsey Vonn stands on the podium during the medal ceremony for the Alpine skiing Women's Super-G event on February 20th. The excellent athlete keeps herself warm on the stand with a lean puffer jacket.
Nicola Minichiello and Gillian Cooke of Great Britain compete in the Women's Bobsleigh competition on February 23rd. Though they are currently ranked in 10th place, their power uniforms - with the strong stripes and in a hearty shade of red - signify future success.
It's hard to show your individual style when your team requires a standard uniform, but women's U.S. hockey goalie Jessie Vetter flashes her patriotic pride with an eagle-adorned mask.
Though they eventually lost to Denmark, United States curlers Debbie McCormick (center), Nicole Joraanstad (left), and Natalie Nicholson (right) are winners in our book with their royal blue and black uniforms on February 21, 2010. The subtle hints of accessories are a nice touch too!
Rachael Flatt of the United States flies through the air like an ice gymnast during her short program during the women's figure skating competition on February 23rd. Her pink and sequins ensemble would make Lady Gaga proud. Bonus points for the nude nylon overlay on her skates - it's a good trick for elongating the leg!
South Korea's Yu-Na Kim won a shiny gold for her performance during the Ladies' Figure Skating Short Program on February 23rd. She also won style points for her au courant spangled one-shouldered ensemble.
Canada's Christine Nesbitt's hand says it all. The ladies' 1500m speedskating champ wears a standout one-piece in red, black, and white that reminds us of a very Narciso Rodriguez-esque cutout dress.
