"Gossip Girl" "It" couple Blake Lively and Penn Badgley were among the famous faces who gathered to celebrate the label Barlow becoming available at chic online retailer Shopbop.
Barlow designer Molly Girard Coonan told StyleList, "I met them when I moved to New York in 2007, I was trying to find a job and I met them and they were really awesome. So it's really flattering that they came tonight."
Other notables who came to Los Feliz, a chic basement bar on Manhattan's Lower East Side, included actors Ed Westwick ("Gossip Girl"), Melissa George ("30 Days of Night") and Vincent Piazza ("Boardwalk Empire"), as well as model Julia Dunstall.
Coonan, a Santa Fe, NM, native who just turned 30, has been designing for Barlow since August 2009. "I like comfortable and sexy dresses, I like them to be both," she said of her signature style, nominating black, fuschia and heather grey as her favorite colors for this coming spring.
Asked why she was excited to collaborate with Shopbop, Coonan replied: "Selling through the Internet means little people can become big people. And it means bypassing 'The Man' -- you can be anybody anywhere and be really successful.
"I don't like pretentiousness, so if I can figure out a way to be cool and not pretentious and successful that would be really awesome. And the Internet is a tool to be that."
