New TouchBack Hair Marker Colors Grays Away (win it here!)

If you're trying to squeak out more time between salon color appointments or DIY dye jobs (and who isn't these days?), we've found a handy little product that can help you cheat gray roots longer.

TouchBack's new hair marker is the first on the market to mask roots with real temporary color instantly.

With a clever design not unlike YSL's Touche Eclat, the marker conveniently dispenses color fluidly through the tip so that you don't have to risk color splatter on your clothes while double-dipping into a tube. And for the coordination-challenged, you can lay the color comb against your head while painting roots to prevent any dye from touching your skin.

"Before this marker, your options were gel-based crayons and mascaras, which look exactly like you've used crayon or mascara on your hair. It's stiff and flakes," says TouchBack founder Joan Lasker, a former Vogue beauty editor who also created the ColorMark hair color wand.

So what's the difference between ColorMark hair color wand and TouchBack's new marker? "Our 60 and over clients sometimes need more color saturation to cover advanced graying, which ColorMark is better for since it has a very wet formula," says Lasker.

We watched carefully as Jason Backe, Master Colorist of the Ted Gibson Salon, went to work on the roots of a twenty-something year old publicist. ("I'm already blessed with grays!" she lamented to us.) The marker left a deep, wet ribbon of color behind that dried in a minute and was glossy and comb-able.

"This is the most solution-oriented product I've ever worked with," says Backe. "You touch it to the root, and your gray is gone right away - but your hair still has the shine and depth of a real hair color. And what I like best is that it doesn't interfere with my work as a professional colorist. You can shampoo it right off."

And Backe has also prepped famous faces with the marker for red carpet appearances - although he can't share names.

"Anytime I work on roots or extensions - publicists never let me name names! But it works great for busy women because their schedules are all over the place, and spending four hours in a salon is sometimes impossible. The quick touch up gives them the confidence they need to feel pretty. Otherwise, you just worry about who's looking at your roots all night long!" says Backe.

My first grey showed up in my early 20's. By the time I was 30, my entire front half of my head was grey. I have been coloring for 12 years! I am a medium brown.
Thanks

Hi.

I started seeing white hairs in my late 20's.

I am now totally grey (white). My hair is dark brown, and it is so difficult to keep up with the touch-ups which I need every two and a half weeks.

Everything I have tried so far has looked terrible,. especially in the light when you can actually see that you've touched up with a crayon.

Thanks for listening.

I started getting grey hairs in my 30's and hate having to color my hair when I could just do a touch-up. My color is rich black.

My first gray hairs showed up when I was 23. I had three of them by my left temple. I pulled them each out, pasted them on black construction paper and wrote in white ink, "Mom, you can have these back". I mailed it to my Mom. She got a good laugh out of it.

What a terrific idea! I never had gray that was noticeable until my mid-50's, but since that time, my roots just 'ooze' gray - gosh! I hope that isn't my brain-power leaking out. But that would explain the memory lapses, the number reversals, etc. Just kidding. I even made a decision once to let the gray just grow out, but I couldn't see it through. It made me even feel older! Now that's something I do not want...my grandchildren keep me young and I want to behave that way as long as I can!

My shade, in case I'm a winner, is Ash Blonde.

Thanks,
Barbara Harrison

My first gray started showing up in my 60's. My hair grows fast so something to touch up the gray in between beauty appointments would be wonderful. My hair color is medium brown.

Thanks

My first grey appeared in my early 20's. I would have been okay with it had it not been for the strands appearing top front of my hairline. I am a dark brown.

This product looks fabulous. My first grey started in my mid 30s and changed the whole texture of my hair. Each year I'm closer to all grey.

I would love to try the light brown to see if I could stretch the time between color treatments beyond the four weeks I have to do now. Please announce where this product will be available for purchase. I'm eager to try it.

I've been recently seeing more gray hair on the top of my 48 year old head, and I don't like it at all! Of course it is growing in most prominently right where I part it, so even the tiniest outgrowth is showing gray roots. I would use the Ash blonde color, and I hope I win!

If not, what stores are selling it?

Thank you.

I started graying in my 20's after I had children. I often tease them saying I never had gray hair before I had kids! I can color my hair and within one week the gray is coming back (especially the front roots). I dont want to gray my hair every two weeks so I dye every month or so, but by then the gray has taken over. This would be the perfect solution for me. I am the dark brown color. Thanks for the giveaway!!

I started getting gray in my early 30's. My gray is very resistant to color so this would help me a lot. I would use ash blonde. Thanks so much

Linda, I have resistent gray and called Clairol after several failures to cover it. They put me onto Nice and Easy which has worked well for years. Now I see they have a version of Nice and Easy which is specifically for resistant gray. Hope this helps.

My first grays showed up when I was 40. It would just make my day to be able to try your product. As it is now, I have to color every 4 to 5 weeks. The color I would try is medium brown. Hope I'm one of the winners.

My first greys showed up four years ago when we were buying our first house! I've colored my hair ever since. My husband says to just let it go (as he is buying his Just For Men- LOL), but I feel I am still too young for grey hair (47). My natural hair color is medium brown.
