Whether they attended the
Oscar ceremonies or not, these
Hollywood's A-listers hit the party circuit dressed in their best designer garments. Immediately following the show, there were a plethora of parties to choose from, but anyone who wasn't at the
Govenor's Ball (i.e. those who weren't nominated) made a beeline for Vanity Fair's annual fete at Sunset Towers where hobnobbing is a serious sport. Hilary Swank was here, there and everywhere in her cutaway
Armani Privé frock. Heidi Klum opted for a '60s mod look, and Kate Bosworth looked like couture cotton candy in a pink Valentino confection.
Meanwhile, at the Pacific Coast Design Center, Elton John and David Furnish welcomed Selma Hayek (in space aged
Alexander McQueen),
Kelly Osbourne (in a feathered Sue Wong frock) and Eva Amurri (looking darling in
J.Crew), to their annual shindig which benefits the Elton John AIDS foundation.
The previous evening,
Chanel kicked off the festive 24-hours with a dinner at Madeo's. There were no overtly ostentatious ensembles here, just elegant women wearing mainly all black. Among those who made their way through rain-splattered L.A. for the affair were Robin Wright Penn, Marisa Tomei, and Minnie Driver. In the sea of darkness, Olivia Thrilby, ever the indie actress, stood out in a sweet red dress.
